Public Relations (PR) Manager

Level: Manager–Senior Manager
Report : Head of Branding & Communications

The Public Relations Officer will be responsible for developing and executing Labamu’s public relations strategy to enhance brand visibility, thought leadership, and reputation within the Indonesian SME and technology ecosystem. You will collaborate with the leadership, product, partnership, and marketing teams to ensure all communications reflect Labamu’s mission and strengthen our position as a trusted SME facilitator.

This is a practical yet strategic role that requires media literacy instincts, strong narrative building skills, and the ability to turn complex information into compelling stories.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PR Manager to enhance our brand narrative, strengthen our public presence, and amplify Labamu’s reach across key media channels. This role requires strong English writing skills, strong media relations skills, and strategic communication skills—particularly in the technology and business space.

Key Responsibilities:

PR Strategy & Narrative Development

  • Develop and implement an annual PR roadmap that aligns with Labamu’s brand strategy, business objectives, and product roadmap.
  • Crafting a strong, consistent, and compelling brand narrative that positions Labamu as a leading SME ecosystem builder.
  • Identifying storytelling opportunities around SMEs, community impact, technology innovation, product development, and partnerships.

Media Relations & Press Engagement

  • Build, maintain and develop relationships with leading media (technology, business, finance, lifestyle, SME).
  • Ensuring high-quality media coverage across print, online, broadcast and emerging channels.
  • Proactively deliver news, thought leadership articles, and exclusive insights to journalists and editors.
  • Manage incoming media inquiries, interviews, and press opportunities for leadership positions.

Content Creation & Editorial Excellence

  • Write and edit high-quality press releases, media kits, opinion pieces, speeches, Q&A documents, talking points, and executive messages.
  • Ensuring all communications align with Labamu’s tone, values ​​and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate complex product or business updates into easy-to-understand narratives.

Product Launches & Corporate Announcements

  • Lead PR planning for product launches, feature updates, partnerships, company milestones, and announcements.
  • Coordinate messages and timing with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive communication.
  • Develop communication tools for media, partners and internal stakeholders.

Reputation & Crisis Management

  • Monitor media sentiment, public perception, and industry trends.
  • Identify potential risks and manage sensitive communication situations.
  • Develop a crisis communications plan and reactive statements as needed.

Events, Thought Leadership & Executive Positioning

  • Supporting executives in securing speaking, panel, interview, and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Manage PR amplification for community events, workshops, and ecosystem initiatives.
  • Strengthening Labamu’s position through a strategic narrative that highlights SMEs, digital transformation, and community empowerment.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Track PR performance across channels, media quality, sentiment, and reach.
  • Provide monthly analytics and insights to the leadership team.
  • Continuously refine and improve PR strategies based on market data and trends.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in PR, media relations, strategic communications, or corporate communications.
  • Previous experience in technology, startups, fintech, or business media is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record in securing top-tier media coverage and managing complex PR campaigns.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent English writing and editing skills — able to craft compelling stories, press materials, and executive messages.
  • Strong media network with established relationships in tech, business and SME media.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into communication strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and build trust.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Familiar with digital PR, social amplification, and modern communication tools.
