June is a very special month for Jakarta, as this is when Indonesia’s busiest city will celebrate its 498th Anniversary on June 22, 2025. To mark the occasion, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has prepared a series of festive events.
In fact, the series of events for Jakarta’s 498th Anniversary have been taking place from May 2025 and will continue until July 2025. However, the main celebrations are held in June 2025, aligning with Jakarta’s founding month, and are spread across various iconic locations.
The events being held are diverse, ranging from arts and cultural festivals, historical and sports exhibitions, affordable bazaars, to, of course, music performances that are sure to delight all Jakarta residents.
Tagline and Logo of Jakarta’s 498th Anniversary
This year, Jakarta’s tagline for its anniversary celebration is “JAKARTA KOTA GLOBAL DAN BERBUDAYA” (Jakarta: A Global and Cultural City). The tagline reflects Jakarta’s celebration and spirit to continue growing while realizing the city’s aspirations for the future.
The logo for Jakarta’s 498th Anniversary combines various elements, colors, and patterns, incorporating several iconic symbols of the city. This design reflects Jakarta as a Global and Cultural City, conveying a sense of modernity, festivity, and unmistakably Jakarta.
The design of the number 498 is also purposeful and meaningful. The digits are connected seamlessly, symbolizing the passionate spirit of Jakarta’s residents to collaborate and work together toward becoming a global city.
Meanwhile, the pastel colors used, combined with abstract motifs, reflect the diversity of Jakarta’s vibrant community, rich culture, and aspirations.
