  • 1-2 tsp honey (to taste)

  • Ice cubes as needed

  1. Place the shallots, garlic, red chili, and part of the corn into a chopper. Blend until smooth but leave it slightly coarse.

  • 500 ml water or chicken broth

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

  • Salt, pepper, and powdered broth to taste

How To Make:

  1. Sauté the garlic with a little oil until fragrant. Then, pour in the water or chicken broth and let it boil

  2. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and powdered broth, stir well. Adjust the taste.

  3. Add the misoa and mustard greens, cook briefly until the misoa starts to soften.

  4. Reduce the heat, then slowly pour in the beaten egg while gently stirring to form soft strands.

  5. Ready to serve with a sprinkle of chopped green onions and fried shallots.


5. Shredded Chicken with Kecombrang

Instead of frying, you can cook chicken breast in a healthier but still delicious way with this dish. Guaranteed, you’ll be hooked by the fresh aroma of kecombrang (torch ginger) and kaffir lime leaves. Just pair it with warm rice and fresh vegetables. It can also be a great stock for side dishes.

Ingredients:

  • ½ kg chicken breast, boiled until cooked, then shredded

  • 7 shallots, thinly sliced

  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely minced

  • 5 red chili peppers, sliced diagonally (to taste)

  • 1 stalk of kecombrang (torch ginger), thinly sliced

  • 3 kaffir lime leaves, remove the stems, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 tsp roasted shrimp paste (optional)

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • Salt, sugar, pepper, and seasoning to taste

  • 1 tsp lime juice

How To Make:

  1. Heat coconut oil in a pan, then sauté the shallots and garlic until fragrant

  2. Add the chili peppers, kecombrang, kaffir lime leaves, and shrimp paste, sauté until wilted and aromatic.

  3. Add the shredded chicken and season with salt, sugar, pepper, and seasoning. Cook over low heat until drier and the flavors are absorbed.

  4. Finally, add the lime juice, stir, and it’s ready to serve.


6. Gourami Fish with Yellow Pickled Sauce



Gourami with Pickled Vegetables can be a flavorful choice for breaking the fast. It's less oily and guaranteed to be more delicious when served with nutritious pickled vegetables.

Fish Marinade Ingredients:

  • 1 whole gourami fish, cleaned and scored

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp ground white pepper

  • 1 tsp lime juice

  • Oil for frying

Ground Spice Ingredients:

  • 4 shallots

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 2 candlenuts, toasted

  • 1 cm turmeric, roasted

  • 1 cm ginger

Yellow Pickle Ingredients:

  • 1 cucumber, deseeded and julienned

  • 1/2 carrot, julienned

  • 5 whole red bird’s eye chilies

  • 3 kaffir lime leaves, veins removed

  • 2 stalks lemongrass, bruised

  • 200 ml water

  • 1 tbsp vinegar

  • sugar, salt, and broth powder

How To Make:

  1. Marinate the carp fish and let it sit for 15 minutes. Fry in hot oil until golden brown. Set aside.

  2. Blend the spices and sauté until fragrant. Then add lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. Add water, vinegar, sugar, and salt, stir well.

  3. Add cucumber, carrots, and chili peppers, stir briefly to keep them crispy.

  4. Pour the pickled sauce over the fried carp fish and serve immediately.

7. Black Pepper Beef

This beef dish is guaranteed to be practical and easy to make. It has an enticing aroma of bell peppers and a savory, slightly spicy black pepper sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams sliced beef (shortplate or thin sirloin)

  • 1/2 red bell pepper, Cut into cubes

  • 1/2 green bell pepper, Cut into cubes

  • 1/2 onion, thickly sliced

  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely minced

  • 1 tsp cornstarch, dissolved in a little water

  • 2 tbsp oil for sautéing

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp sweet soy sauce

  • 1 tsp black pepper, coarsely crushed

  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar

How To Make:

  1. Heat a little oil, sauté the garlic until fragrant. Add the onion and bell peppers, sauté briefly until wilted.

  2. Add the sliced beef, stir quickly until it changes color.

  3. Add the prepared black pepper sauce mixture. Cook until well combined.

  4. Pour in the cornstarch solution to slightly thicken the sauce, stir until absorbed, and it’s ready to serve.
